The Season of Lent

I just have to say that I am SO PROUD of our little family! We are 12 days into Lent and still going strong :-)
As many of you already know or have discovered, I decided to be a supportive role model to my youth students and accepted Pastor Dan's challenge of giving up Facebook for Lent. Maddy also accepted the challenge! For myself personally, it is has been extremely rewarding and challenging all wrapped up into one. I believe the electric bill might be significantly lower since it has been days since my computer has been turned on (I use my phone or work computer to check my email) haha I am using the time that I spent on Facebook every morning diving into a fabulous book entitled Captivating

which I would totally recommend to any Godly woman pursuing her purpose in life and how to become more of the woman that God intended her to be. It was a graduation present from my brother (He is in love with the masculine version of this book entitled Wild at Heart) but the book was put to the waist side after I was about 3/4 finished because I started the book club)
The best part is that my dear ol' hubby also gave something up for Lent and it is his first time!
Madeline and Dan also decided to join me in my Lutheran religious roots of growing up and not eat any red meat on Fridays. Dan found a black bean burger recipe online that we experimented and try out last Friday and it is simply delicious! (waaaaay proud of myself for even attempting to eat a black bean burger since I am really not a fan of beans at all)
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods :-)
