So I know a lot of us were rudely awaken by that storm last night. (the one that was suppose to happen around dinnertime for us and I was worried my car would be hit by massive hail while I am enjoying my Wednesday night wings!) We went to bed with a flashlight and a nightlight turned on (a power outage would mean NO sub pumps and we have two). I slept through it all! haha Dan said that it seemed like such a short storm that he didnt get up to check on our basement or anything just assumed. WELL, folks, you know assuming does? It makes an
A$$ out of U and ME :-(

Jacob gets some work done
Wait? Who is Jacob? If you guessed my SUV you have guessed correctly......Why oh, why, is my vehicle named Jacob. Two words: Team Jacob. Two more words: Twilight Saga. If anyone else is still lost, the only thing I can say is: "What! Have you been living under a rock for the past three years in American society?!?!"
So if you saw my status on Facebook yesterday I was not a happy camper. What was suppose to be a routine oil change (which thrifty me had a coupon for from Pontiac) turned into a $800 some dollar expenditure that we were not playing on paying at this moment.

Happy Easter
Happy Easter everyone! Christ has Risen!
It doesn't really feel like Easter here this year - no egg hunt, no Easter basket for Maddy to undo (Maddy got her Easter basket last weekend since she is away) and other than my MIL, Sandi, coming over, no big hoopla meal at lunch time either. So, I woke up this morning at 7:30 to put in our baby rotisserie chicken (This little 4 lb. bird was seriously the cutest!) in the crock pot.

Nothing but the Blood
The following post is brought to you by Senior Pastor Jim Bolich of Prince Street Church Shippensburg, PA
(ok, not really, it is me writing it but only because I was so extremely inspired by the sermon I heard this past Sunday at church. Thanks Pastor Jim!)
If you grew up a Christian, you know the story of Easter. You know and believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and the only way to get inside of Heaven's gates is through that very salvation. I think sometimes we become numb to the story (it has almost the same effect as the Christmas story on us) and we forget to stop and truly think of the sacrifice that Jesus made for OUR sins.

Adios Madeline
Well, the Easter bunny hopped his way over to our house early this year. He wanted to make sure that Maddy got her basket fulled with sugary goodness (and some flip flops) before she headed off to North Carolina for Easter break.

Nana's lozenge cake
How many of you have those precious recipes that have been passed down through the generations and now they sit in your recipe box or somewhere stuck inside a cookbook. Sometimes we don't need to even look at these recipes to cook or bake them, we have them memorized. Or maybe there is no recipe for something that you make because your grand mother or great grandmother measured in "a pinch" or "till it looks right".
Tonight after supper has been cleaned up, I am making one of these such recipes. It has been passed down from my great grandmother (aka Nana) and it is called lozenge cake made from those little pink lozenge candies

Meet the fam...
Well, it's official - I have created a blog and I really want to stick with it and use it to write about my family and everyday life and living. I have a lot of family that lives 2 hours away and I feel that they don't get to know how my life is coming along. I don't know even how many people will follow my blog and read it, but it's out there for anyone and everyone and I hope you enjoy it :-)
