So I know a lot of us were rudely awaken by that storm last night. (the one that was suppose to happen around dinnertime for us and I was worried my car would be hit by massive hail while I am enjoying my Wednesday night wings!) We went to bed with a flashlight and a nightlight turned on (a power outage would mean NO sub pumps and we have two). I slept through it all! haha Dan said that it seemed like such a short storm that he didnt get up to check on our basement or anything just assumed. WELL, folks, you know assuming does? It makes an
A$$ out of U and ME :-(
Our morning wake up call? "Dad, there is water in the basement." To assess the damage, we have about 4 inches in our basement, which believe it or not is totally mild... (the third day after we bought the house in '06 we had two days of rain, power kicked off, and we got a foot and a half in about 45 minutes!!) Our problem is that for some reason, both of our sub pumps are not kicking on because they are tripping the breaker. This has not happen to us before, so Dan has now solved the problem by hooking up the second sub pump to our generator. So water receding in the basement? Yes, slowly, but surely
Our back yard? Yeah, that's a totally different story! (not the best of pics, but you get the idea)
